Introduction

This webinar brings together experts in neurology to explore clinical experiences, diagnostic innovations, and advances in small fiber and autonomic dysfunction. Sessions highlight real-world practice, emerging technologies such as SUDOSCAN, and approaches in neurophysiology and biomarker development, fostering insight and collaboration.

Program

In this webinar on May 21st 5pm (CET), Dr. Alexander Smirnoff, Prof. Mitra Tavakoli and Prof. Magdalena Krbot Skorić will share their feedback of the us of SUDOSCAN in their practice.

1/ Clinical Experiences at Dr. S mirnoff Office. Dr. Alexander Smirnoff, USA – 20 minutes.

2/ Clinical Insights into Small Fiber and Autonomic Dysfunction Using Sudoscan. Prof. Mitra Tavakoli, United Kingdom – 20 minutes.

3/ SUDOSCAN testing in people with multiple sclerosis. Prof. Magdalena Krbot Skorić, Croatia – 20 minutes.

About our guests

  • Dr. Alexander Smirnoff
is a board-certified neurologist with over 40 years of experience and international training. He earned his medical degree in Latvia and completed residencies in St. Petersburg and the United States, followed by fellowships in neurophysiology and neuromuscular disorders. Based in Florida, he leads a private practice and is Associate Professor at the University of Florida. His work focuses on general neurology, Alzheimer’s disease, and movement disorders, with active involvement in clinical research and medical education.
  • Prof. Mitra Tavakoli
Professor Mitra Tavakoli is Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Exeter and a globally recognised expert in peripheral neuropathy. Her research focuses on early detection and monitoring of small fibre and autonomic dysfunction using non-invasive biomarkers. She works across diabetes, neurodegenerative, and rare diseases, translating innovative diagnostic technologies into clinical practice. Professor Tavakoli leads international collaborations and is dedicated to improving diagnosis, disease stratification, treatment monitoring, and training future researchers in neuropathy and biomarker development.
  • Prof. Magdalena Krbot Skorić
Prof. Magdalena Krbot Skorić is a clinical engineer at the University Hospital Centre Zagreb, where she heads the Laboratory for Cognitive and Experimental Neurophysiology. She is Associate Professor at the University of Zagreb and teaches in medical and engineering programs. Actively involved in international research projects, she has published widely in neurophysiology. Her interests include clinical neurophysiology, biomedical engineering, and medical statistics. She is a member of several professional societies in neurology, neurophysiology, and biomedical engineering.
